Warner Bros Offers to Buy Midway for $33 Million 0

Could “Lego Mortal Kombat” be far behind?
For some unknown reason, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has offered to buy the slag pile of debt affectionately reffered to as Midway for $33 Million dollars… (Which, to put it in perspective, is about how much those horribly crappy spoof movies make on their opening weekends.) Midway, who was at one time one of the most powerful publishers in the gaming industry, has fallen on hard times as of late and has been looking for a bailout for quite some time now. I would imagine that WBIE is happy to oblige so that they can add the once powerful studio to their “massive debt liability” boutique publisher line. Hey, everyone’s doing it!

The deal would include current franchises such as Mortal Kombat and Wheelman, although TNA Impact isn’t included (not that anyone will miss it). I just hope WIBE has the god sense to do something with the classic franchises we’d really like to see, like NBA Jam, Rampage, Joust, Smash TV and Root Beer Tapper, amirite?
