Nerdcore Calendar Premiere Party 2010 0

We make the Nerdcore calendar girls scream!

Each year, Nerdcore releases a calendar of naked porn stars and various hot babes re-enacting moments from popular geek fantasies. These have involved subjects ranging from video games, to superheroes, to science fiction. This year, Nerdcore surprised dorks everywhere by going with a horror theme! I don’t know what they were so surprised about; few people are as hopelessly nerdy as a hardcore horror fan. And I should know. We smell our own.

So anyway, our foxy field reporter Laryn Michael went down to Royal Clayton’s English Pub to talk to all the sexy Nerdcore models and the dweebs that coerced them into getting naked in the first place. The resulting interview may be too sexy for some… So if you are watching from your office, please make sure that you don’t have to stand up for at least a few minutes. (Trust me on this.)

Hey guess what else? We also have some preview pics from the calendar itself! (Some of which, we pilfered from our friends at ShockTIllYouDrop.com.) Check em’ out:

Food One and Buffmonster Body Painting Exhibit 0

Body painting on naked girls: Turning regular people into art enthusiasts since 1993!

If you are any kind of self-respecting nerd, you’ve probably seen some of Jim Mahfood’s work at Nerdcore shows, I Am 8-Bit art installations, in the pages of any of the various comic books that he’s worked on or produced (Clerks, Spider-Man, Generation X, 40oz Comics, Girlscouts, etc…), and possibly even on a can of Colt 45. We ran into Mahfood (who often goes by the name “Food One”) and Buffmonster at a party during Comic Con last weekend, body painting their artwork on a couple of tasty babes. Check out some of the (borderline NSFW!) pics from the event right here:

Buffmonster paints a foxy blond while the girl in the back practices her karate or something.

Food One is going for what looks like a tribal Muppet design with his roller.

A gratuitous ass shot. You’re welcome.

How is it that only one mohawk spike is flaccid in this picture? Read the rest of this entry →

Street Fighter DVD Release Party 0

We drink the “White Lotus” with Chun-Li in Chinatown!

Last week we attended the release party for the Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li DVD at the Mountain Bar in Chinatown, LA. In a bid to attract fans from all over the city, the “Shadowloo Bar” (as they were calling it that night) was inviting anyone and everyone to come in, have a few drinks, and watch a handful of super-human Street Fighter dorks compete for a giant pile of cash under the watchful eye of ½ dozen sexy Chun-Lis (who were themselves under the watchful eye of 100 or so horny fanboys). Plus: tacos!

Here’s a few pics from the event:

Nerdcore 2009 Calender Premiere Party! 3

We crash the party and sexually harass the models!

For the uninitiated, the Nerdcore calender is pretty much the most anticipated yearly planner/titty calender ever conceived by human hands. This year’s sci-fi theme is right in line with the things nerds like most: robots, lasers and boobs.

We sent our hottie reporter, Laryn Michael, to Golden Apple comics to interview Nerdcore co-founder Jon M. Gibson while we drank Colt 45 and tried to hit on the various Nintendo-addicted adult film actresses in attendance. Check it out!

Also feel free to take a one-handed look at these tastefully semi-censored preview images from this years’s awesome Nerdcore calender:

I Am 8-Bit 2008 0

Nerdcore exhibit opens in Hollywood!

By Jeremy Azevedo
Starting last Thursday and continuing on through September 7th, popular gamer lifestyle brand “I Am 8-Bit” will be hosting a gallery of 8-bit inspired art at the World of Wonder Storefront in Hollywood.

I was lucky enough to attend the opening and check out some of the crazy artwork on display this year. While there weren’t any giant-size working controllers or custom chiptune Guitar Hero games or anything at the show this year, the Nerdcore girls were acting as a human exhibit of sorts, lying around glass enclosures in their underwear, playing old school games in front of drooling fanboys disguised as hipsters. Adding to the excitement were DJs playing midi tunes while bartenders served (free!) Colt 45s in custom designed 24 oz. cans.

Donkey Kong, Mario and Paul Frank

Now I’m not much of an art critic but I find the whole 8-bit art thing particularly fascinating because as a kid growing up playing those games, I remember using my imagination to fill in the blanks that the rudimentary graphics were unable to fill. What these artists have done is essentially given physical form to their own imaginary interpretations of subjects that figure very strongly in today’s pop cultural tableau. My camera is a piece of shit so please enjoy these pictures, most of which I cribbed from our friends over at Joysiq.com!
