Behind the scenes with the villains of Arkham Asylum

One of the things that sets the upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum game apart from other Batman games that we’ve seen is the setting… Why no one else has thought to place Batman in the very home of his all greatest enemies is really beyond me. In this video with the lead designers behind the game, we are introduced to the logic behind which villains were used in the game and why. Look for cameos by everyone from The Joker and Mr. Zsasz to Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Bane, The Riddler and Killer Croc!

Special edition of the game to include an actual Batarang.

I don’t know how wise it is to give a bunch of overfed bat-geeks a real Batarang to dismember themselves with, but the honest truth is that it sure would look cool on your desk or lodged deeply into the tissue of your thigh.

The “Batman: Arkham Asylum” special edition buck (or $99.99, specifically) doesn’t stop there though… Batmaniacs will also recieive a nifty behind the scenes DVD that they will never look at, an exclusive “Crime Alley” map and a bitchen’, full color, 48 page Doctor’s Journal with notes on Arkham’s notorious inmates. I do believe that a copy of the game comes along with that as well.

Here’s a pic of the complete package for you to fap to until the game comes out:

We’ve also got a handful of new screens that you might like to check out, featuring some of Batman’s new attacks like “Hang Upside Down and Hold Your Bat-Breath” or the infamous “Bat-Kick to the Bat-Neck”:

Batman Arkham Asylum Box Art Revealed 0

Thankfully, Robin is nowhere to be seen.

Batman Arkham Asylum isn’t due out until the summer, but images of the final boxart are beginning to appear. We’ve got the cover from the Xbox 360 version here… It looks great, but I’m a little surprised that the Joker isn’t featured on it. Now I realize that this is a Batman game and everything, but didn’t “The Dark Knight” prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that The Joker is the real star of the show?

We also have the new Invisible Predator trailer for Batman: Arkham Asylum videogame.  This latest trailer shows the Dark Knight using his unique vantage point system to move without being seen while utilizing fear takedowns, Batarangs, and brute force to hunt down and defeat his enemies.  The trailer also showcases the unique, dark and atmospheric environment of Arkham Asylum – Gotham’s psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane.

Official Synopsis: Based on the core Batman license, Batman: Arkham Asylum will launch worldwide on Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION3 and PC in Summer 2009. In Batman: Arkham Asylum, Gamers will move in the shadows, instigate fear amongst their enemies and confront The Joker and Gotham City’s most notorious villains who have taken over the asylum. Using a wide range of Batman’s gadgets and abilities, players will become the Invisible Predator™ and attempt to foil The Joker’s demented scheme.

New Trailer, new pics, unrelated/gratuitous Megan Fox cameo!

Batman may be dead (sorta?) in the comic book, but that won’t stop him from appearing in one of the best looking licensed videogames since…

Well, since ever, by the looks of it. We’ve come a long way since the dark days of “Superman 64″, and “Batman: Arkham Asylum” is shaping up to be hotter than Megan Fox eating ice cream in a sauna.
