Frenzied Waters

I’ve been eaten by a shark, apparently.

The other day I received a mysterious package from an unknown source. Inside was a handwritten note about something called “Frenzied Waters”…

…and a frosted glass jar with an oxidized lid.

This is perhaps the second weirdest thing I have ever received in the mail, following the sticker book that came with the Japanese torture show I reviewed a few months ago.

Inside the jar were the following items:

1 - rusted boat key on a floaty key ring from “Discovery Marina”

1 - obituary based on my own personal information, printed on actual newspaper (Don’t worry, I’m actually fine!)

1 - pair of bloody, skidmarked (seriously) swim trunks with a bite taken out of the leg

1 - beach closure notice with a phone number on it

1 – rusty object with “frenziedwaters.com” etched on it, and a giant shark tooth attached

I called the number and was greeted by a message about mutilated seal carcasses, predators and beach closures. Off the subject: Mutilated Seal Carcasses… That’d be a great band name wouldn’t it?

Following the website link, I came to a mysterious site that in turn led to what looked like home movies of people getting pwned by sharks. The last video ripped images from my Facebook page to show what appeared to be a representation of my own life flashing before my eyes. Pretty cool/creepy!

Coincidentally, if my life ever actually did pass before my eyes, it would probably look something like this.

Obviously this whole deal is a promotion for a movie or something… I will say that the fact that there isn’t anything on IMDb about “Frenzied Waters”, coupled with the boat key that says “Discovery Marina” on it gives me a pretty good idea of where this came from, although I won’t spoil the surprise for you. Protip: I have played enough Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney to know a solid clue when I see one! Regardless of where it came from, the mysterious website (FrenziedWaters.com) is certainly worth checking out and unraveling for yourself!
