Special edition of the game to include an actual Batarang.

I don’t know how wise it is to give a bunch of overfed bat-geeks a real Batarang to dismember themselves with, but the honest truth is that it sure would look cool on your desk or lodged deeply into the tissue of your thigh.

The “Batman: Arkham Asylum” special edition buck (or $99.99, specifically) doesn’t stop there though… Batmaniacs will also recieive a nifty behind the scenes DVD that they will never look at, an exclusive “Crime Alley” map and a bitchen’, full color, 48 page Doctor’s Journal with notes on Arkham’s notorious inmates. I do believe that a copy of the game comes along with that as well.

Here’s a pic of the complete package for you to fap to until the game comes out:

We’ve also got a handful of new screens that you might like to check out, featuring some of Batman’s new attacks like “Hang Upside Down and Hold Your Bat-Breath” or the infamous “Bat-Kick to the Bat-Neck”:

Plus live footage from his new solo act!

By Jeremy Azevedo
We caught up with B-Real at last month’s Paid Dues festival to talk with him about his new solo album, “Smoke and Mirrors”, and what he’s doing to stay visible in today’s volatile, modern music business.

As one of the longest lasting and most widely appealing MCs in hip-hop, B-Real had much to say on the subject of artist relevancy, music downloading and finding an audience for gangsta music in the Internerd era. Check out that interview here:

Steel Panther: Death to All But Metal 0

Steel Panther’s new video, guest starring Sara Silverman

f you’ve ever spent any time in Los Angeles, you’ve probably been to a Metal Skool/Metal Shop/Steel Panther show at the Key Club on Sunset at least once. At the very least, you’ve have heard of them.

Steel Panther are so skilled at their particular brand of 80s glam metal homage that they’ve been selling out shows weekly for as long as I can remember. Going to one of their shows is like getting into a time machine, watching a Poison/Motley Crue/Guns N’ Roses show, having your face melted, and then traveling back home in a Delorean made of hairspray and leather.

For those of you that do not live in Southern California and have not been rocked in person by Steel Panther, we offer you this new video for their song, “Death to All But Metal”!

(Not to be confused with “Death to All Buttmetal”. That’s something else entirely.)

Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire 0

New comedy series channels Xena and Monty Python

By Jeremy Azevedo
“Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire” sounds less like a TV show and more like a Dungeons and Dragons expansion.

In fact, it’s sort of like a cross between “Monty Python”, “Xena: Warrior Princess” and a Seth Rogan movie (doesn’t really matter which one, they’re all pretty much the same amirite?).

Krod Mandoon stars English actor and mid-90s recording artist Sean Maguire as the titular character, an inept and insecure freedom fighter capable of wielding the redundantly named “Flaming Sword of Fire”. Krod mandoon is joined by a cadre of equally useless companions, including:

Loguato, a mongoloid pig man and Krod’s faithful servant.
Zezelryck, a non-magical magician. (Sort of like an ancient version of David Blain).
Aneka, a slutty and emasculating pagan warrioress

The premiere episode of Krod Mandoon struggles to find it’s voice at first, vacillating between fanciful sword and sorcery and low-brow horse raping jokes. It’s hard to tell at times whether they are going for a relatively straightforward take on “Hercules” or a dark-ages version of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. The production value is great, but maybe it’s just the dry, English style humor that throws me off.

In the end, if you can make it past the first couple of groan-inducing jokes and plot twists, Krod Mandoon really starts to pick up steam, offering one of the most unique comedy experiences you will presently find on television.

Check out Krod Mandoon on Comedy Central, Thursdays at 10pm / 9c.
